Works really well in my 2004 F-150. The finish matches almost perfectly with the truck's stock finish. The only posible negative is that the 2 side mounts are plastic rather than steel but they seem to hold the head unit securely. I made sure to use the rear rubber coated pin that came on the stock head unit to hold up the rear of the new head unit.

How is the Reception--Most people wonder about losing reception with this antenna. 99.9% of the time reception stays the same OR improves. Don't be fooled by even shorter replacement antennas, they may look nice but it has been our experience that anything shorter than 13 inches has little or no reception.

Does not fit EVERY 2005 Ford Explorer.
Dash kit compatibility can be extremely confusing for people who have never installed them in a variety of vehicles. I thought Amazon would be of help considering their compatibility program said this would fit a 2005 Ford Explorer XLT. Metra makes great kits, don't get me wrong. However, anyone who may be reading this please aware that Amazon's compatibility program is incorrect in stating that this will work with EVERY 2005 Ford Explorer. Some will work with this kit, depending exactly which month it was manufactured, some will work with Metra's model # 99-5026 (which has the screw-in on the bottom and not on the sides).This would actually be a really great kit if it were the correct one, which is why I still gave the item 4 stars. This experience was still better than a certain Big Box retailer who's car audio department was absolutely no help and tried selling me this kit AFTER I told them that I knew it wasn't the correct one... then proceeded to try to sell me... I've been off-roading for more than four decades. Bikes, buggies and now, a 4x4. Never really thought I needed a winch until I got the 4X4, but since my Trooper weighs in at around 4,500 pounds, I knew there was no way I could get out of a "sticky" situation without a winch. I run in sand at Hatteras, hills and woods at Wind Rock and make the occasional trip to CO to explore old mining trails and hunt for ghost towns. And I always travel alone. So, one of my first purchases for the Trooper was an ARB bullbar and a Warn M8000. That was in 2002. Oddly, since then, I haven't had a desperate need for a winch. Oh, there have been numerous times when I have had to clear a large branch or tree from the trail, but I've never been stuck, so I never had a chance to put the M8000 to the test.Then, this Spring, I had a 70', 18" diameter black pine break in a windstorm and fall into the lake near my boat dock where we live. Does what it says
This is the best basic winch you can get. Don't be fooled into buying any of the cheaper ones. Learn from my mistakes. It does what it says it does. Pulls four tons. Has paid for itself in my case with one emergency use. Had to pull and lift 2.5 tons which it did with ease. I would recommend having a snatch block and either a chain or heavy strap to give more options when needed. It is not always possible to get the truck with the winch in exactly the right spot. It fits fine for my 2003 Mercury Mountaineer
The installer had to do some minor cutting to make it fit better for my 2003 Mercury Mountaineer. The cut is hidden behind and not shown. It keeps my double-din unit very stable. My motorized screen will not completely close because the bottom hits the lower panel of the opening part of my car. Because of this, the unit will always slide out all the way when it is turned on because not completely close when powered off messes up the memory of the last angle the screen was at. Nevertheless, I am happy with it. I bought 2 so I could give one to my brother who has a 2002 Ford Expedition. Top to learn more

Good fit, Required Minor Modification
I had to modify the rear mount on this to work on my 2002 Mustang. It required drilling the hole into a slot that attached to the head unit. Took all of 5 minutes but I thought it should have worked out of the box. Other than that, fit and finish is good. Top to learn more
